Run Half Marathon Battling Crohn’s disease Ulcerative Colitis., residents Katie and Mike Dolgert recently completed the race of their lives while helping 1.4 million Americans tackle their own race – battling Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, two chronic and often debilitating .

Katie and Mike participated in Team Challenge, an program of the Crohn’s & of America, whose mission is to promote a cure for Crohn’s & colitis and to improve the of people suffering from these diseases. For 16 weeks, they trained with other like-minded athletes around Connecticut to complete the Rock ‘n Roll in December. Together they raised $11,000 toward research, education, and support services related to Crohn’s and colitis. Nationally, Team Challenge raised over $4 million toward finding a cure. For Katie, the cause is personal. She was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2001.
